Nestlé USA Selects Data Impact to Expand Electronic Invoicing and Payments with Its Customers

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In a move designed to extend the convenience of electronic invoicing and payment to a higher percentage of its customer base, Nestlé USA has selected Data Impact to provide Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP) technology. Nestlé will leverage Data Impact’s EIPPPlus solution to supplement its current Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) process.

“A company of Nestlé’s size naturally has a very large and diverse customer base, ranging from large international distributors and retailers to smaller, entrepreneurial ventures”

ImageData Impact’s EIPPPlus platform provides Nestlé with a scalable solution that will enable a much larger percentage of its customers — particularly those without the technical or financial resources to deploy EDI — to realize the advantages of electronic invoicing and payment. Data Impact’s EIPPPlus the first comprehensive integration of electronic invoice presentment, payment and online document repository capability. Its modular design and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery enable customers to fundamentally alter the Accounts Receivable transaction cycle and streamline the path to payment.

Today, a growing number of companies using EDI are realizing that the relatively small percentage of their customer base has the wherewithal to take advantage of EDI, and so the majority of customer interactions remain paper-based. As a result, they are turning to EIPP solutions in order to expand the electronic reach to their smaller clients within their disparate customer bases.

“The savings realized by moving to an automated customer interface are well documented,” commented Data Impact CEO Michael Lane. “In addition to the obvious print mail expenses, the reductions in reconciliation and collection costs can be significant as well. In the realm of EDI, these savings have been achieved, and now companies are pursuing additional avenues to extend that reach to more of their customers. Data Impact has eliminated the barriers that have limited similar cost savings, and can now provide a scalable model for customers of all sizes — a solution that delivers the same process efficiencies and cash acceleration as available through EDI.

“Nestlé’s decision to augment its proven systems with EIPPPlus underscores the viability of EIPP to supplement — not compete with — EDI systems,” said Mr. Lane. “It also demonstrates to other large supply chain powerhouses that there is benefit to automating a broader base of customers — and that a solution is now available to accomplish this goal.”

“A company of Nestlé’s size naturally has a very large and diverse customer base, ranging from large international distributors and retailers to smaller, entrepreneurial ventures,” said Pete Knox, Head of Nestlé USA Credit and A/R Administration. “Data Impact’s EIPPPlus allows us to quickly implement a scalable solution that will allow a greater number of our customers to realize the benefits that our EDI customers have enjoyed for years — and for Nestlé to further streamline our A/R function and achieve accelerated cash.”
